Role: BI Analyst
Hours: 8am - 4pm Eastern Time
Hourly Wage: Competitive and negotiable depending on experience
The BI Analyst is responsible for collecting, analyzing, and visualizing business data to provide actionable insights for decision-makers across marketing, sales, operations, and finance. The role requires hands-on experience with data modeling, dashboard creation, and reporting, as well as the ability to communicate insights clearly to stakeholders.
The ideal candidate is analytical, detail-oriented, and skilled in turning complex data into intuitive visualizations and business recommendations.
Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and optimize BI dashboards and reports for various business functions (marketing, sales, operations).
- Analyze business performance metrics, trends, and KPIs to provide actionable insights.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business needs and design data solutions.
- Translate complex data into easy-to-understand visualizations and presentations for stakeholders.
- Monitor key metrics and provide regular reporting on sales, customer behavior, and operational performance.
- Identify areas for process improvements using data-driven insights.
- Ensure data quality, accuracy, and consistency across reporting tools.
- Support the implementation of data warehouses and BI tools to improve reporting capabilities.
- Assist in ad hoc analysis and deep-dive studies to answer business questions.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Statistics, Computer Science, Economics, or related field.
- 2–4 years of experience in Business Intelligence, Data Analysis, or Reporting (preferably in eCommerce or retail).
- Strong knowledge of SQL and relational databases.
- Proficiency in BI and visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, Looker Studio, or similar.
- Experience with Excel/Google Sheets for analysis and reporting.
- Ability to analyze large datasets and identify trends, outliers, and actionable insights.
- Strong communication skills; able to present insights effectively to non-technical stakeholders.
- Analytical mindset with attention to detail and problem-solving ability.
Preferred Skills (Nice to Have)
- Familiarity with eCommerce platforms (Shopify, Magento, Amazon Seller Central, etc.).
- Experience with ETL processes and data pipelines.
- Exposure to Google Analytics, Google Ads, or Meta Ads reporting.
- Knowledge of Python or R for advanced analytics.
- Understanding of business operations and KPI frameworks in eCommerce.
