The Senior Associate Director would be primarily repsonsible for liaising with investment managers, vendors and auditors for day-to-day operational issues. Alongside preparing, co-ordinating and reviewing all client financial reporting deliverables and associated reports, they would also work with internal teams, such as Client Operations, Investor Operations, Client Integration, Legal, Vendor Management, Outsourcing etc., to ensure all internal and external deliverables are met. Further responsibilities include:
- Assist with department resource planning and staff allocation.
- Assist with financial analysis of potential new clients/workload/turnover/headcount requirements etc.
- Attend pitches to potential new clients, due diligence meetings, board/client meetings as required.
- Build and maintain a strong relationship with clients, vendors and audit firms.
- Continue to carry out the core roles of the team, including the creation and preparation of financial statements workings/reports.
- Continue to develop a greater understanding of the financial reporting environment and assist in the creation of service offerings for our clients.
- Contribute to the development of the department and documenting new department processes.
- Develop and improve financial reporting processes and procedures.
- Ensure all fees are billed on time and collected in a timely manner.
- Ensure all processes are performed in accordance with operational procedures and controls and all relevant checklists are completed.
- Manage the staff that report directly to you, assist in training team members and participate in their performance review process.
- Monitor and manage the reporting deadlines for the services/clients that you and your staff are accountable for.
- Assist with the preparation and review of KPI’s for the team.
- Take on ad-hoc tasks as required.
Qualifications
- Post-secondary education with a concentration in finance, accounting, mathematics or related fields.
- Professional qualification in ACA, ACCA, CPA, CIMA or CFA.
- Strong computer skills with strengths in Microsoft Office products. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel/Word is essential.
- In-depth understanding of fund administration industry.
- Experience with accounting software Geneva, Investran or Yardi an advantage. Mantra would be beneficial but not necessary.
- Experience with financial reporting software Confluence, RR Donnelley, Workiva etc would be beneficial but not necessary.
- Advanced knowledge/understanding of characteristics of various financial instruments such as equities, bonds, bank debt, derivatives.
- Knowledge of financial reporting, with exposure to the funds industry is essential:
- Preparation of financial statements of funds (including experience with UCITs, ICAV’s, S110 etc.), with a significant amount of this time in a financial reporting role or have experience in auditing of financial services.
- Be able to demonstrate an understanding of FRS 102, US GAAP, Lux GAAP and IFRS.
