Work Schedule: This role is expected to align with the AU business hours (approx. 9 AM - 5 PM, Monday to Friday) for collaboration

Compensation range: 2,500 to 3,000 AUD / Month

Engagement type: Employer of Record (EOR); Remote

Role Overview: 

The Senior Bookkeeper will play a key role in managing and overseeing day-to-day financial operations, including bookkeeping, payroll processing, and reporting. This role is ideal for a seasoned professional who values accuracy, consistency, and efficiency in all aspects of accounting. You’ll work closely with internal teams and clients to ensure financial data integrity, timely reporting, and compliance with accounting standards. The position also offers opportunities to contribute to process improvements and support the company’s long-term financial growth.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Oversee and manage full-cycle bookkeeping activities, including reconciliations, journals, and general ledger maintenance.
  • Prepare and process payroll in line with compliance and reporting requirements.
  • Generate and review financial reports, including profit and loss statements and balance sheets.
  • Manage accounts payable and receivable, ensuring accurate and timely entries.
  • Prepare BAS, IAS, and other regulatory submissions as required.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and clients to resolve discrepancies and maintain accurate records.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline processes and enhance financial reporting efficiency.
  • Support junior bookkeeping staff and provide guidance as needed.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in bookkeeping or accounting roles, ideally at a senior level.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and compliance.
  • Proficiency with accounting software such as Xero, MYOB, or QuickBooks.
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
  • Effective communication skills and a client-focused, professional approach.
  • Ability to work independently while managing multiple deadlines.
  • Experience supporting small to medium businesses or multiple client accounts is an advantage.

This is a remote role that will be set up via an Employer of Record (EOR) service.
