LOCATION:It's a onsite job to work in United Kingdom from any of our offices across UK. Individual needs to work initial 6 months from India (WFH) till the VISA process is completed and has been trained on the requirements.
As a Senior Accounting & Tax Specialist, you will take the lead in managing end-to-end UK bookkeeping, financial reporting, and tax compliance for a diverse portfolio of clients. You will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring adherence to UK GAAP, and delivering high-quality accounting insights that support client decision-making. This role also involves close collaboration with clients, supporting their financial needs, and ensuring smooth and compliant operations. You will play a key part in defining best practices for bookkeeping, improving internal processes, and guiding junior team members in their technical growth.

Key Responsibilities
Financial Record Management
- Manage accurate and timely bookkeeping activities, including ledgers, reconciliations, and preparation of financial statements.
- Ensure all financial processes comply with UK GAAP and regulatory standards.
- Review client records regularly to maintain completeness and accuracy.
Client Relationship Management
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, addressing queries and providing professional guidance.
- Understand client requirements and deliver tailored financial solutions.
- Improve bookkeeping processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
Reporting and Analysis
- Prepare detailed financial reports and analysis for clients and internal teams.
- Identify financial trends, risks, and opportunities to support strategic decisions.
- Present insights that help clients improve financial performance.
Technology & Systems Management
- Oversee the use of Xero, QBO, Sage, Dext, and other widely used tools to streamline operations.
- Recommend new technologies to improve workflow efficiency.
- Ensure all teams use accounting systems effectively and consistently.
Budgeting, Forecasting & Planning
- Assist clients in building accurate budgets and financial forecasts.
- Support long-term financial planning with data-driven insights.
UK Tax Compliance (Self-Assessment Focus)
- Lead and manage UK Self-Assessment tax compliance for individuals and businesses.
- Review tax returns prepared by junior and mid-level staff.
- Advise clients on tax regulations, documentation needs, and HMRC queries.
- Stay updated with changes in UK tax law and identify tax-saving opportunities.
- Support the tax team with process improvements and efficiency initiatives.
Team Leadership & Mentoring
- Guide junior and mid-level team members in bookkeeping and tax processes.
- Promote learning, accuracy, and technical excellence within the team.
- Collaborate with other internal departments to ensure seamless service delivery.
What Makes You a Great Fit
- CA/ACCA qualified with 5+ years post-qualification experience in UK accounting and tax.
- Strong understanding of UK bookkeeping, financial reporting, and regulatory standards.
- Proven experience handling Self-Assessment tax processes and HMRC compliance.
- Ability to manage clients independently with strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Skilled in accounting software like Xero, QuickBooks, Sage, Dext, and advanced Excel.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to coach and develop junior team members.
- Detail-oriented, analytical, and proactive in improving processes and delivering value.
