We are seeking a hungry and strategic Business Development Manager to drive the growth of our technology consulting services within the Australian Energy and Utilities sector. This is more than a sales role; you will be a trusted advisor to clients, helping them navigate the complexities of an increasing changing landscape. You will be responsible for connecting their business challenges with our cutting-edge technology solutions and building strategic partnerships that create tangible business value to our clients. 

In this role, you will develop and execute a targeted go-to-market strategy to expand our client base and footprint in the Energy and Utilities vertical. Your responsibilities will include prospecting new clients, strengthening relationships with key decision-makers and progressing and nurturing a robust pipeline of qualified opportunities,. You will lead the entire sales cycle from initial contact to contract negotiation, working collaboratively with our pre-sales, solutions, and delivery teams to craft compelling proposals. A key part of your role will involve acting as the voice of the customer, gathering market intelligence to shape our service offerings, and representing the NCS brand at industry events.

Qualifications

  • Proven Sales Track Record: Demonstrable success in a business development or strategic sales role, specifically within a technology consulting, professional services, or systems integration company. Proven ability to proactively develop new opportunities with new stakeholders.
  • Industry Expertise: A deep understanding of the Australian Energy and/or Utilities sector, including its major players, key challenges (like operational efficiency, decarbonisation and grid modernisation), and regulatory landscape.
  • Complex Solution Sales: Experience selling complex technology solutions and services, such as Cloud Transformation, Data & AI, IoT, or Cybersecurity.
  • Executive Communication: Exceptional communication, presentation, and negotiation skills, with the ability to build credibility and rapport with senior-level executives (e.g., CIOs, CTOs).
  • Strategic Mindset: A consultative approach to sales, with the ability to think strategically and link client business problems to technology solutions.
  • Personal Drive: A resilient, self-motivated, and results-oriented attitude with the ability to work autonomously and manage a complex sales pipeline.
  • Professional Network: An existing and relevant network of senior contacts within the Australian Energy and Utilities industry.
