Onsite — United Kingdom
Candidate will initially work remotely from India for the first 6 months (WFH) during visa processing and onboarding/training.
Post visa clearance, the role transitions to onsite from any of our offices across the UK.

Requirements

We are seeking an experienced finance professional to take ownership of UK-focused financial compliance, reporting, and tax operations for a portfolio of international clients. You will oversee end-to-end bookkeeping accuracy, regulatory compliance, and financial insights that support strategic decision-making. In addition, you will shape internal accounting standards, drive process improvements, and mentor junior team members to ensure best-in-class service delivery.

This is a high-visibility advisory role requiring strong technical expertise, client management excellence, and hands-on leadership.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Governance & Reporting

  • Oversee accurate and timely bookkeeping processes including ledgers, reconciliations, and financial statements.
  • Ensure compliance with UK GAAP, statutory requirements, and audit-ready documentation.
  • Review client financial records regularly to maintain integrity and transparency.

Client Advisory & Relationship Ownership

  • Serve as the primary advisor for assigned clients, offering guidance on financial processes and compliance matters.
  • Proactively resolve queries and deliver tailored advisory support that strengthens client outcomes.
  • Improve financial workflows for accuracy and operational efficiency.

Financial Insights & Performance Analysis

  • Produce comprehensive financial reports and management insights.
  • Identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improved business performance.
  • Present findings to clients in a clear and consultative manner.

Technology & System Optimization

  • Manage accounting platforms including Xero, QuickBooks Online, Sage, Dext, and other tools.
  • Recommend systems improvements and automation opportunities to streamline workflows.
  • Ensure consistent adoption of best practices across accounting processes.

Tax Compliance & Regulatory Support

  • Lead UK Self-Assessment tax filings for individuals and entities.
  • Review tax returns from junior staff and ensure error-free submissions.
  • Support HMRC enquiries, documentation compilation, and advisory research.
  • Stay updated on UK tax developments and identify tax-saving opportunities.

Team Leadership & Capability Building

  • Mentor junior and mid-level team members, supporting technical excellence and training.
  • Foster a culture focused on accuracy, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to enable smooth end-to-end service delivery.

About You

  • CA / ACCA qualified, with 5+ years post-qualification experience in UK accounting & tax.
  • Strong command of financial reporting, bookkeeping controls, and UK GAAP standards.
  • Proven experience with Self-Assessment tax filings and HMRC compliance.
  • Excellent communication & client-facing skills, with ability to work independently.
  • Proficiency with Xero, QBO, Sage, Dext, advanced Excel, and strong analytical ability.
  • Leadership mindset with experience mentoring or reviewing work of junior staff.
  • Organized, detail-oriented, proactive, and committed to delivering measurable impact.
